Dr. Deniss Martinez co-leads the communication, outreach, and demonstration aspects of the project. Specific duties will include developing outreach materials based on downscaled climate and fire predictions for allotments; curating specific funding opportunities for allottees to increase climate resilience on allotments; developing template application materials drawn on Thorne and Battles’ data for allottees to use in applying for these opportunities; providing personalized assistance to allottees to develop allotment climate adaptation plans that incorporate both traditional ecological knowledge and the results of Thorne and Battles’ analyses; co-coordinating demonstration workshops with allottees and UCD project personnel; and developing workshops for the annual conference. Martinez will also assist with developing data sharing agreements and MOUs, and writing reports and articles of project results.
